We welcome dogs at The Grosvenor Arms, Shaftesbury

Arrival and departure

Check in is from 3pm but it is always possible the room will be available earlier, so please call us and ask. Departure is from 11am although we are happy to leave it until later if there are no incoming guests for the room.

Please note that the hotel does not operate a 24 reception desk, so if you plan to arrive after 10pm please call the hotel in advance so they can arrange access.

Parking

Please note that there is no dedicated parking at The Grosvenor Arms and unfortunately we are no longer able to provide parking permits for hotel guests. There are though plenty of parking options locally and at check out we will happily reimburse your parking costs of up to GBP 6 per night for your stay against food and drink purchases made whilst staying with us.

Children

Children are always welcome and we have a cot and a limited number of put-up beds if you would like them to sleep in your room, although only the larger rooms can accommodate an extra bed. Please be advised that these extra beds must be requested in advance of arrival.

Charge for Travel Cot: none
Charge for Z Bed: £30 a night (includes breakfast)

Dogs

Dogs are welcome in all rooms and may join guests in the bar area (where a full menu is served) but not in the restaurant. If you are bringing a dog then they must not be left alone in the bedroom/bathroom at any time unless they are in a secure crate. Any damage caused to the paintwork or furnishings will be chargeable. There is a surcharge of £20 per dog per stay.

Cancellation T&Cs

Any Advanced Purchase Early Booker rates must be pre-paid in full at the time of the booking and are non-refundable and non-transferable. For all other bookings we ask that they are cancelled or amended before midnight 7 full days prior to arrival date to avoid a penalty charge of the full stay. Payment for the stay will be taken 7 full days before arrival date.

We ask that bookings of 3-5 are cancelled or amended 14 days prior to arrival date to avoid cancellation charges. Group bookings of 6 rooms or more will require a contract in place with separate deposit and cancellation terms.

Please note we do not pay commission to 3rd party agents who book direct with the hotel and/or with whom there is no signed, written contract.

Payments

Card details are required to secure the booking and your card will be charged the full amount 7 full days prior to arrival, in line with the cancellation policy.

Arriving by car

Please note that there is no dedicated parking at The Grosvenor Arms. There are though plenty of parking options locally, more details of which can be found here.

If you are staying at The Grosvenor Arms you can pull up at the front of the building and we will help you unload your luggage and direct you towards a suitable car park.

If you are dining at The Grosvenor Arms restaurant, the most convenient place to park is in the long-stay car park. Parking is free after 6pm.

Travelling by train

There are regular direct trains from London Waterloo arriving in just under two hours at Gillingham railway station which is just over five miles from The Grosvenor Arms, or Tisbury (seven miles).

Compton Abbas Airfield

Private aircraft may land at Compton Abbas airfield which is just four miles from The Grosvenor Arms.

Accessibility

Although we have a lift in the building for the 1st floor only, none of our bedrooms are adapted for wheelchair access.
The ground floor of the hotel is accessible in a wheelchair and there is a disabled toilet.
