Parking

Please note that there is no dedicated parking at The Grosvenor Arms but there are plenty of options within a short walking distance of the hotel and all car parks in Shaftesbury are free between 1800 – 0800.  We recommend parking in the Angel Lane car park which is a 4-5 minute stroll along the High Street and allows parking for up to 10 hours. Bell Street car park is just over the road from the hotel with a maximum stay of four hours. There is also street parking outside the hotel and on local streets, although this is restricted to one hour between 0800 – 1800.

When you arrive at The Grosvenor Arms you are welcome to pull up at the front of the building and we will help you unload your luggage, direct you to the car park. We recommend downloading the Just Park app.

For overnight guests we will happily reimburse your parking costs of up to £6 per night’s stay against food and drink purchases made whilst staying with us. This can be done at reception on check-out.

If you are dining at The Grosvenor Arms restaurant, the most convenient place to park is the Bell Street car park, which has a maximum stay of 4 hours. Parking is free after 6pm.

1. Bell Street (post code SP7 8AP, /// relishing.stance.then) this is the closest car park to the hotel – literally just over the road. The car park has 148 spaces and is short stay with a maximum stay of four hours and no return in four hours but is free between 1800-0800. You can pay via the parking machines or the Just Park app (location no. 3648). This car park also includes two electric vehicle charging bays (operated by Mer).
2. Angel Lane (post code SP7 8DF, /// buying.halt.slid) this is a long stay car park with 55 spaces at the end of the High Street approximately 4 minutes walk from The Grosvenor Arms. You can purchase tickets for up to 10 hours from the parking machine or via the Just Park app (location no. 3640).  The car park is free 1800-0800.
3. Street parking – there is some street parking outside the hotel and in surrounding streets including Bell Street, Bimport and Tout Hill. These spaces are free and allow one hour parking between 0800 – 1800 and are free outside these times.

By car

The Grosvenor Arms is very easy to find, when you come off either the A350 or the B3081. Just follow signs for ‘town centre’ and you’ll find the hotel and restaurant in the High Street, Shaftesbury.

The Grosvenor Arms is about 2 hours’ drive from London, by the M3 and A303.

By train

There are regular direct trains from London Waterloo arriving in just under two hours at Gillingham railway station which is just over five miles from The Grosvenor Arms, or Tisbury (seven miles).

Compton Abbas Airfield.

Private aircraft may land at Compton Abbas airfield which is just four miles from The Grosvenor Arms.
