We are super-dog-friendly at The Grosvenor Arms, and our four-legged companions are welcome in the bar, conservatory, outside terrace and all our stylish bedrooms.

Comfortable high-ceilinged rooms with king size beds. A lovely mix of modern and classic with a soothing elegant grey colour palette with pops of bright colour in soft furnishings, tactile throws, and contemporary artwork. There’s a comfy armchair to kick off your heels and relax into after a day’s exploring. The lighting is contemporary and there are pretty decorative touches. Bathrooms are large and bright with attractive modern tiling.

Gorgeous and spacious room with a large private balcony. Stylish, contemporary, and romantic. In-room freestanding roll-top bath with pretty, decorative tiles. A modern but muted warm earthy paint tone with pops of ochre, terracotta and blue bring a relaxed vibe. Lounge on the balcony and hear the gentle tinkling of the fountain in the courtyard below.

Kick-up your heels in the ballroom size bathroom with its vast walk-in shower, freestanding bath, and stylish statement furniture.
Check in is from 3pm but it is always possible the room will be available earlier, so please call us and ask. Departure is from 11am although we are happy to leave it until later if there are no incoming guests for the room.
Please note that the hotel does not operate a 24 reception desk, so if you plan to arrive after 10pm please call the hotel in advance so they can arrange access.
Please note that there is no dedicated parking at The Grosvenor Arms and unfortunately we are no longer able to provide parking permits for hotel guests. There are though plenty of parking options locally and at check out we will happily reimburse your parking costs of up to GBP 6 per night for your stay against food and drink purchases made whilst staying with us.

Dogs are welcome in all rooms and may join guests in the bar area (where a full menu is served) but not in the restaurant. If you are bringing a dog then they must not be left alone in the bedroom/bathroom at any time unless they are in a secure crate. Any damage caused to the paintwork or furnishings will be chargeable. There is a surcharge of £15 per dog per stay.
Please note we do not pay commission to 3rd party agents who book direct with the hotel and/or with whom there is no signed, written contract.
Card details are required to secure the booking and your card will be charged the full amount 7 full days prior to arrival, in line with the cancellation policy.
Arriving by car
Please note that there is no dedicated parking at The Grosvenor Arms. There are though plenty of parking options locally, more details of which can be found here.
If you are staying at The Grosvenor Arms you can pull up at the front of the building and we will help you unload your luggage and direct you towards a suitable car park.
If you are dining at The Grosvenor Arms restaurant, the most convenient place to park is in the long-stay car park. Parking is free after 6pm.
Travelling by train
There are regular direct trains from London Waterloo arriving in just under two hours at Gillingham railway station which is just over five miles from The Grosvenor Arms, or Tisbury (seven miles).
Compton Abbas Airfield
Private aircraft may land at Compton Abbas airfield which is just four miles from The Grosvenor Arms.
Although we have a lift in the building for the 1st floor only, none of our bedrooms are adapted for wheelchair access.
The ground floor of the hotel is accessible in a wheelchair and there is a disabled toilet.
