Arrival and departure
Check in is from 4pm but it’s always possible the room will be available earlier, so please call us and ask. Departure is from 11am although we are happy to leave it until later if there are no incoming guests for the room.
Please note that the hotel does not operate a 24 reception desk, so if you plan to arrive after 10pm please call the hotel in advance so they can arrange access.
Parking
We provide parking permits for the Bell Street LONG STAY park which is situated very near the hotel. Click here to view map.
Please pull up outside the hotel on arrival to collect your permit from reception.
Children
Children are always welcome and we have a cot and a limited number of put-up beds if you would like them to sleep in your room, although only the larger rooms can accommodate an extra bed. Please be advised that these extra beds must be requested in advance of arrival.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome in all rooms and may join guests in the bar area (where a full menu is served) but not in the restaurant. If you are bringing a dog then they must not be left alone in the bedroom/bathroom at any time unless they are in a secure crate. Any damage caused to the paintwork or furnishings will be chargeable. There is a surcharge of £15 per dog per stay.
Booking T&Cs
With the exception of Early Booker, Non-Refundable rates, we ask that reservations are cancelled 24 hours prior to the stay to avoid a penalty charge of the full stay. All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card to secure the booking and payment will be taken prior to arrival, in line with the cancellation policy.
The Advanced Purchase Early Booker rate must be pre-paid in full at the time of the booking and is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Dinner inclusive rates are to the value of £27.50 per person and exclude drinks; any additional spend will be added to your final bill.

Card details are required to secure the booking and your card will be charged the full amount 24 hours prior to arrival, in line with the cancellation policy.
Getting here
Arriving by car
Please note that there is no dedicated parking at The Grosvenor Arms. The Hotel has one parking permit per hotel room for the long-stay car park which is 2 minutes’ walk from The Grosvenor Arms.
If you are staying at The Grosvenor Arms you can pull up at the front of the building and we will help you unload your luggage and issue you with your parking permit for the long-stay car park.
If you are dining at The Grosvenor Arms restaurant, the most convenient place to park is in the long-stay car park. Parking is free after 6pm.
Travelling by train
There are regular direct trains from London Waterloo arriving in just under two hours at Gillingham railway station which is just over five miles from The Grosvenor Arms, or Tisbury (seven miles).
Compton Abbas Airfield
Private aircraft may land at Compton Abbas airfield which is just four miles from The Grosvenor Arms.
Accessibility
Although we have a lift in the building for the 1st floor only, none of our bedrooms are adapted for wheelchair access.
The ground floor of the hotel is accessible in a wheelchair and there is a disabled toilet.
